Privacy policy
Start the Rice is a personal project by ghostman.io, at recipes.ghostman.io.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign in (with Google or an email address) our sign-in provider, Clerk, gives us your name, email address and profile picture.
- Your household's planning data. Settings, saved meals, schedules, shopping lists and recipes you import.
- Your calendar, only if you connect one. With read-only access to Google Calendar we store the title, start and end time, and location of events in a short window around today, plus an encrypted refresh token so we can keep them current. We never write to your calendar.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to show your household's plans and to find tonight's cooking window from your calendar. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the services that host the app (Clerk for sign-in, Vercel, Fly.io and Neon for hosting and the database).
Start the Rice's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
Disconnecting a calendar in the app deletes its stored events and token. You can also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete your account and data, email jim@ghostman.io.
